Clinic Visits

9.17.2024
CCP Does not have any agreements or special arrangements with the clinics on their list. When contacting a clinic, follow the steps below:
• Confirm the clinic is open
• Confirm the clinic is accepting walk-in patients
• Confirm clinics hours of operation
• Inform the clinic we are directing one of our members to their clinic as a "Self-pay" patient and that our member has a membership benefit of $150 per clinic visit
• Confirm clinics fax number and inform the clinic that we will be faxing them our payment information and authorization
• Instruct member to proceed to the clinic
NOTE: It is important to understand and explain, if needed, that CCP is not insurance. It is a membership plan that pays up to $150 per clinic visit.
Sending a fax:
When sending a fax, confirm the fax number with the clinic receptionists (see script below). If any changes need to be made to the fax number, including if there is a "1" in front of the fax number, please make the change and press "update" before attempting to send the fax. The fax will not go through if there is a "1" in front of the fax number.
Unable to locate a clinic for the member:
Always escalate the call, immediately, if you are unable to successfully locate a clinic in our member's area, OR, if the clinic isn't able to accept walk in patients or accept our payment via fax. *Complete the Help? email. Let the member know someone will reach out to them shortly.
Use suggested scripting below when calling a clinic for a visit: (Updated 02.23.2022)
"Hi, this is (agents name), with Convenient Care Plus, we are a Telehealth Benefit company that offers clinic visit benefits to our members. We would like to direct one of our members to your clinic on a self-pay basis. We authorize up to $150 per clinic visit. The member's name is (Member's name). I would like to fax over our payment authorization and direct her/him your way."
Please note: It is an important point that you simply don’t call the clinic and ask if the clinic "takes Convenient Care Plus". Because our benefit is not insurance, the clinics most likely will not be familiar with Convenient Care Plus but they will all accept a membership program that pays up to $150 at the time of the members visit.
